Alping guiding season starts when ski season ends! Which, by some accounts, meant January first over here in Chamonix during this particularly dry winter.

The alpine rock is drying off and the Mt Blanc snowpack has consolidated enough to allow boot packing. In other words - it's on for 2011! Keep checking the blog to get a sense of what conditions are like and which routes I've been on lately.

I will be available for summer alpine and rock guiding from the end of May until October 5th, 2012. In November, I will likely deploy to Antarctica as a field mountaineer for NSF-funded scientific research through the U.S. Antarctic Program.

In the coming weeks, I will be posting specific information about suggested ascents and courses. Until then, check my  availibility on my google calender.  It changes all the time.
